2. When someone says "that's so surreal" he or she is saying that something is either so real that they start to debate whether the event is actually happening or not, or that it is not real at all.

The image above is taken by Kyle Thompson. I was intrigued with this photograph because I like how the person's head is sticking out of water to create an illusion that he is drowning. I was also intrigued by the message from it, which is that we are all drowning from something in our lives, but something is keeping us above water to let us breathe. The fact that it is taken in the middle of the street also adds a surreal sense because it is not something you would ever see in real life.
The image above is taken by Erik Johansson. I was intrigued by the photo because I like how he created the ball in the middle of the street, and how it is reflective. I also like the message that comes from it, which is that there are always going to be things in our way that are reflective on who we are and the things happening in our lives, and we have to figure out how to get past them. Also, I like how there is nothing else on the road besides the ball, the person, and the car because it creates a surreal aspect that when we try to get past those hardships in life, there won't be anyone else to help us get past them.
Thank you - great explanation.
